RARE Apple PowerBook 2400c 240MHz 80MB 128GB SSD w/ NOS Screen – MINT

For sale is a rather rare Apple PowerBook 2400c/240 laptop computer, upgraded with 80MB of RAM and a 128GB SSD, and fitted with a New Old Stock (NOS) LCD panel. The system features a Japanese keyboard and is running Mac OS 7.6.1 (Japanese language).

Includes the original PowerBook 2400c 36W AC adapter (M4328) with US-style plug.

→ Original hard drive has been replaced with a 128GB SSD, making the system feel very responsive.

→ PRAM battery has been preventatively removed (clock and date will not be retained between shutdowns). The original PRAM battery did not leak on electronics.

→ TrackPad button contacts have been cleaned, and the previously disintegrated button foam has been replaced.

→ Previously disintegrated rubber feet (bottom case) and display bumpers have been replaced with professional 3D-printed replacements.

→ CF slot works properly.

→ Battery charges, but expect significantly reduced runtimes due to age.

→ Display: The LCD panel was replaced with a NOS screen due to vinegar syndrome on the original. The replacement display is bright and clean for its age, with a small number of dead pixels visible. This is typical for LCD panels from the late 1990s. Please review photos carefully.

The exterior case shows visible signs of use and wear throughout. Please judge cosmetic condition based on the photos — many detailed images are provided.

The PowerBook 2400c runs well, but please be aware this is a late-1990s vintage computer, and familiarity with its era is expected. If you have any questions, please send a message before purchasing.
